What Would the Aunts Do? Summer Solstice Mischief by The Witch of Howling Creek

Onto another edition of the “What Would the Witches Do?” series…

They’re the fun, quirky, always meddlesome duo of our beloved Practical Magic. This time, we’re seeing what mischief the Owens aunts might be up to when they disappear for the summer solstice!

Making Flower Crowns

Materials:

Floral wire
Floral tape
Fresh flowers and greens
Ribbons

  1. Size the wire to your head and twist the ends together to form a circle.
  2. Lay short stems of flowers and greens along the wire and twist floral tape around both to hold the stems to the wire. Cover the entire circle with flowers.
  3. Tie five lengths of ribbons from the back of the crown.

Drinking {Spiked} Peach Lemonade

1 cup lemon juice
1 cup sugar
2 cups water
Peach syrup (to taste)
½ cup vodka

  1. Mix ingredients until sugar dissolves.
  2. Serve over ice.

Sleeping Under the Stars

Spread a blanket on the lawn and marvel at the brightest stars on the shortest night of the year!

  1. An amusing read, I stumbled on this page while looking for more information on being a kitchen witch. For many generations the first born girls in my family all have special talents especially in the kitchen among other things…thanks for your info and this well done blog.
