Phoebe Halliwell, the middle sister, is in fact my favorite. She’s spunky and sharp-witted and she always had great hair. But I’ve struggled with what to focus on in this post, asking myself over and over, what is Phoebe known for? Sure, she has the power of premonition. But I’m not particularly knowledgeable on the subject and didn’t feel comfortable writing an authoritative post on it. So I let the problem lie.
Until, that is, I was pondering what to write about for Valentine’s Day 2013. And it hit me! Phoebe’s known for love. Granted, it took her eight long years to finally find the right guy but she did have a lot of wonderfully romantic relationships along the way and she never lost faith in love for long. And so, without further ado…
What Would Phoebe Halliwell Do? 3 Valentine’s Day Love Spells
Any witch will tell you that love spells in general are just a bad idea (and even Phoebe had a few bad run-ins with love and lust spells.) That’s not to say you should steer clear entirely of love magick, however. These spells carefully focus on the spellcaster rather than on the object of their affection and are all about finding and keeping healthy, loving relationships.
Rose Tea Bath
Fill a red, pink or white sachet (or even simply a piece of cheesecloth) with dried organic rose buds. Draw a hot bath and drop in the sachet, giving it a few minutes to “brew.” Enjoy a leisurely afternoon in the tea bath, meditating on opening your heart to love or maintaining a current relationship.
Red Hot Cocoa
Melt 6 ounces of dark chocolate until smooth. Cool. Stir in 2 tablespoons red hot cinnamon candies. Pour into an ice cube tray and freeze. Pop a red hot cocoa cube into a steaming mug of milk whenever you need to spice up your love life a bit.
Watch Love Grow
At the start of a new relationship, infuse a gallon of water with lavender sprigs and rose petals. Use the infused liquid to water your plants, particularly those associated with love such as gardenias, roses and azaleas. While you water, focus on nurturing your relationship in the same way you do your plants.
